BUSHCRAFT 101 - Florida Everglades

This 4-day, 3-night course introduces the survival mindset by blending the essentials of your kit with skills for creating useful items from the natural landscape. You’ll learn how to supplement or replace expendable gear with what nature provides, giving you the confidence to be better prepared in an emergency—or simply to enrich your camping experience.

• Flint and steel & “next fire” mentality
• Non-conventional water collection and disinfection methods
• Debris huts and natural shelters
• Making containers 
• Raised bed construction

• Medicinal trees and plants
• Introduction to Tropical Medicinal Trees and resources
• Cordage making
• Handline fishing reels
• Fish Traps traps
• Fishing Gigs and Gig Fishing
• Net Making
• Processing and preservation of Meat Sources

Several species of meat taken from the area will be processed during the course.

Class Limit 18

You must purchase a Florida Freshwater Fishing License to attend class.

Vehicles will be left at the secured rest stop mentioned below. From there, we will travel in groups by boat to the island, which is a 45-minute journey from the ramp
