Perfect Prey is a leading supplier of frozen feeder rats, which are ideal for reptile breeders and pet snake owners. Frozen rodents are also ideal for raptors (birds of prey) as they eat rats and mice in the wild.
Some snake owners may be concerned that rats may be too big for their particular breed of snake. While it's true that snakes have unique jaws that allow them to swallow prey bigger than their head, they may regurgitate larger animals that they have had difficulty swallowing. For this reason, we also sell frozen pinkies, which are very young, baby rats, suitable for smaller reptiles.
All our rats are flash frozen and then vacuum-packed to guarantee freshness, eliminate freezer burn, increase freezer life, and ensure they pack flat for easy storage.
We breed and raise all our own rodents in a healthy environment. We also only use gaseous carbon dioxide to euthanize them, which is quick and painless for the animals.
