Psoriasis Research: Concerns and Challenges

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease, which is marked by the formation of abnormal skin or skin patches that are red, dry, scaly and itchy. It varies in severity from skin formations in small, localized areas to complete body coverage. It can be of various types, such as plaque, inverse, guttate, pustular and erythrodermic psoriasis. It is considered to be a non-contagious genetic disease. It can be triggered by environmental factors or injury to the skin.
