Scotlands Winter Mountains With One Axe

This guidebook includes thirty easily accessible mountain journeys. They all fall into the lower categories of climbing grades, meaning they are suited for a traditional approach – with just one axe and a minimal amount of gear. There are also three easy routes which serve as a bridge between winter hillwalking and mountaineering. The routes contain background information and easy-to-follow descriptions. The book features colour maps and photographs, showcasing Scotland’s spectacular scenery. All of Scotland's classic winter ridges are described in detail, including the Aonach Eagach, Liathach and An Teallach. The big gullies of the Northwest are also included, such as Deep South Gully on Beinn Alligin and Morrison's Gully on Beinn Eighe.
